Join Gotham Bat Conservancy’s Citizen Science Project

Help scientists by participating in our citizen science project!

Of the 1,400 species of bats in the world, 45 live with us in the United States. More than half of our bat species are in severe decline or listed as endangered.

You can help!

With your motivation to conserve bats, a mobile device, and the iNaturalist app, you will be able to find and photograph different bat species and their habitats in your area and share your findings with more than one million scientists, researchers, and naturalists. Your bat surveying adventures can be solo, with your friends and family, or with a local community group that wants to help conserve bats. The data that you collect will help track bat populations over time!

Follow our social media pages for our citizen science project bat survey schedules!
